    Hi

Last night, I left my haven of warmth in the Hills north of Aberdeen and ventured in to the snow. I had a gig to go to. The weatherperson said there would be several inches of snow. I knew that I might not get home if started to drift.
But The Joy Formidable were playing in Aberdeen and it might be my only chance to see them.
They were brilliant. Go see them if you get chance.
Thankfully, the drifts weren't that big and I got back home safely. All that worry for nothing.

Has anyone else braved adversity in the name of live music?

Honestly, you Scots. A light dusting of the white stuff and it's a big adventure to leave the house.

Without wishing to exaggerate (apologies to Gid if he's trademarked that phrase), here in London we've been waist deep in snow for most of the winter. Do we make a fuss? No. We stoically go about our business entirely as normal, without so much as mentioning the adverse weather.

have you had snow in London? I didn't know. Was it on the news?

Actually this is going to descend in to parady, I can tell. I'll start.

It's so cold and snowy up here that the Specials are reforming to record Brass Monkey man.

    your go.

Mozo posted something similar in the George Lamb thread and it was removed, I still don't understand why though...

We snow a song about that don't we children?

Here in Oxfordshire we've tons of the stuff. Well the odd flake, when I say odd I don't mean less than 2. Those reliable Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ weather chaps are forecasting shedloads of the stuff for us tomorrow though and they're always right aren't they? I've got the Howling Bells to go and see in March, so I hope its all gone by then.

I do have an ice axe and crampons though if need be. I can post them up to you on loan Pete if you are venturing into the wilds again.

I once went all the way by coach to lampeter to see a band play in the SU, in mid winter. I was supposed to be meeting people at the gig who would give me somewhere to stay

It turns out they are all Theology students there, and so before I could meet the people who were putting me up, I was physically thrown out of the gig for doing something which, in open-minded Swansea would have gone without comment.

I very nearly froze to death, and I never got to see the band.

    Lampeter is a dump.
