Sad news. Amazing musician. Great songwriter. Will repeat a session later.
Gid
A great loss - it's obviously not one of his songs, but his version of Spencer The Rover means a lot to me.
Horrible news. I'm really quite choked up about it.

A great loss of truly great musician. That one man, an acoustic guitar and an echoplex could make such amazing music always left me speechless.

Arrived home this afternoon to hear the opening bars to 'May You Never' on Nemone's show. Delighted. If a little suprised. Sang along lustily. All the way through. Then she said why it was on. Took the gloss off it a bit.
Great shame. Terriffic guitarist, great lyricist.
Mind you, saw him at the Cambridge Folk Festival in, I think, 1984, perhaps 85, and he was awful. Or had I had just too much Harp to drink that day?
