Last night Gid mentioned the new 6music ad, and what the music was, but something that's been bugging me for sometime is what was the music from the Phil Jupitus tv ad, probably about 3-4 years ago.
I'm fairly sure it was the Concretes, but can't remember the song. Anyone out there with a good memory? And Gid, can you play it?
Bargeman - Was that the advert for his breakfast show, which ended with him at home, in a room admist all his records, acompanied by his bulldog-looking doggie?
Bargeman, pretty sure it was 'You Can't Hurry Love' by the Concretes.
That was the one. Sadly my idea for that TV ad was turned down. I suggested it feature me (bad start) bringing my cat to work in a horse and cart to the strains of Tom Waits' "What's He Building in There?".. Under darkened skies.
I think it would have won several awards.
Lee, must have been - I only really remember it looking like he was at home - and the music, obviously rather vaguely as I sort of thought it was another song, so thanks to loudGW for putting me out of my misery.
Gid, great idea, certainly more appealing to us dufferly types - not least to see a cat travelling by horse and cart, in London - than that weird graffitti thing. What's that all about?
I'm all for the new ad. If it raises interest and awareness for the station then that's got to be a good thing.
By the way, since getting wireless broadband an hour ago I've got precisely very little proper work done.
This counts as work by the way.

Sounds like the opening titles of 'Out Of Town' as re-imagined by David Lynch.
I'm impressed - you mean you've been without it all this time? Scary.
Wireless? What foolishness is this? No machine can work without wires.
Just as no carriage can be drawn without horse.
Just like every night has its dawn
Just like every cowboy sings his sad, sad song
Every rose has its thorn?
Poison. A very honestly named band.
I'm praying that Gid hasn't been suckered too far into this Wirless Witchery. It's either the work of the Devil, or it's a con by a door-to-door snake oil salesman. Either way, it's to be avoided at all costs.
It's like mobile phones - the words supposedly go whizzing through the air to the other person's phone. But what's to stop your words getting all mixed up with someone else's conversation as they cross over in mid air?
I asked the spotty adolescent salesperson at the Orange Shop how it was supposed to work, and he couldn't even begin to explain it. He just sat there laughing nervously and pushing a little button under his desk. So I clapped my deerstalker to my head, and swept out in triumph, my hard earned cash still safely in my pocket.
