I used to really like this feature on the show, and it just came to mind as I sat playing 'Shine' by Crime & The City Solution, not realising that George Lamb was away and Gary Crowley was sitting in.

It's an album that I love so much it hurts, but I never see the band or their work ever acknowledged by the media.

Another is 'Slow Buildings' by Pale Saints. I've seen it in several second-hand record shops and it makes me mad as I find it mesmerising.

Any chance of a new Great Lost Album feature? A couple of tracks from one, once a week perhaps?

Adam, Roffey & Old Holbrook Corr.

'Behind Closed Doors' by Secret Affair is a smashing album. Sadly as they were linked to the Mod Revival in the 80's, it was doomed to be forgotten, but it should be in those lists of 100 great albums...but of course it never will be, cause they aren't seen as 'cool' by jurnos!

Yeah .... all the Secret Affair LP's were good, I thought that BCD was a bit polished for my taste .... my favourite was Glory Boys - Tom played the title track at my request, as a "one that got away" ....
The Mod revival though short lived, delivered some pretty good LPs - I can recommend LPs by
The Chords, Purple Hearts, Vapours and Merton Parkas

I agree all the Secret Affair albums were ace. And the Purple Hearts (Frustration & Millions are amazing) and The Chords. The Vapours i always found a bit naff...But that's just me.
The Mod Revival in 79 did produce some great music, but for some reason, journalists never seemed to think it was any good... I think The Merton Parkas dreadful 'Wheels' single didn't help...(some of their stuff was pretty good, but not that!) Back to Zero released a great 7" as well (Your side of heaven)...oh no, don't get me started...i'll be reminising all night...
