One of my favourite records of all time is "Music from the Body" by Ron Geesin and Roger Waters. I think it's genius. I absolutely love it to bits. But no-one else I know can stand it. My wife leaves the room - and sometimes the house - when it comes out. My brother once hid it from me for a year, so I couldn't play it within his earshot.
Anyone else got a record they adore, that absolutely everyone else thinks is a stinker?

My housemate and girlfriend, amongst others, just can't stand "Elegies to Lessons Learnt" by iLiKETRAiNS. Clearly not fans of the brooding history-rock genre. Their reaction is so overwhelming, I have given up attempting to play it when they are in the house - just not worth the grief.
Mind you, I have similar reactions when they put on Amy MacDonald or Jack Johnson.
My girlfriend has threatened me to turf me out if I expose her again to Pere Ubu - ever since I had the Song of the Bailing Man album quiety screaming away in the background while serving her parents Sunday lunch.
steve_swift, I'd call you a "Don" if it wasn't such an insult.
Why, thank you
I quite like Give Birth to a Smile from that Roger Waters/Ron Geeson album, but also admit to liking all of Pink Floyd's Atom Heart Mother, so I am probably in a minority anyway!
I'm a (not very) closet goth and my family tolerate some of the things I listen to, but none of them can stand The Birthday Party or Bauhaus, so I do a lot of headphone listening...
