Great British Beer Festival!
hear hear. Or should it be here here?
Sadly I've never been, hubby went once - while I was at work. Life's not fair.
I have been to many other beer festivals though (mostly in the late 80s and early 90s), mostly the pigs ear in east London, but also in Greenwich, Bristol , Durham and Edinburgh and they were all jolly good(apart from the appalling queues for ladies toilets in Bristol) . But I fondly imagine in my ignorance the the great british one would surpass them all.
I think if you look to this year summer than there is no better choice than Camp Bestival or Bestival. I'm not in UK so it seems that I will not be able to go but if you are able, then - GO! Glastonbury will be crappy this year I suppose so...

Connect festival last year was fantastic. Three days in a stunning location (In the grounds of Inverary Castle) with some great acts. The three stages were spaced apart at nice intervals and the whole site was small enough that you could walk from one stage to another in half an hour. Food ranged from, burgers, veggie feasts and even oysters! It was a perfect three days! I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to avoid the big festivals i.e T or Glasto.
Went to Latitude last year and was the best festival i've ever been to.
No little rampant teens with spray on green hair and weekend mohawks like Reading, and no cramming in people who just want to go to say they "were there" like Glastonbury. oh and its not a corporate thing like V either. As far a festivals go its pretty eco friendly and clean!

I think the smaller festivals are the best ones. Summer Sundae and End Of The Road have a lovely atmosphere as well as original and unique bands, not just the same old circuit.
Indietracks festival is also a lovely addition to the festival scene. It takes places on a 1950s steam railway, and I think The Wedding Present and Darren Hayman (from Hefner) are playing this year's event. I went last year and it was fantastic!
Hop Farm in early July looks hard to beat for a 1-dayer
Neil Young
Primal Scream
My Morning Jacket
Supergrass
Guillemots
Rufus Wainwright
