    Hello,

Still in pyjamas at gone midday eating my son's mini yoghurt and listening to Can. Hope nobody has a problem with that but I find it's a splendid way to start the say. Today anyway.

Just wanted to update you on plans for the show. It's been a busy week behind the scenes as the teams have been preparing the on-air talent for the upcoming Best in Show competition. I think it helps with the magic of radio to think of us all as different dogs/cats (depending on your preference). I'm currently a toothless tabby. Listening to Can. And thinking about opening another tiny yoghurt pot.

Anyway, I've clearly not had enough sleep so let's get to business.

As I say, everyone's been very busy but I reckon Paintbox Jury (no prizes), will be back next week and thanks for the artwork in the meantime. That aside, with the odd bit of duffing and the wist Wagon, the rest of the content between the records will continue to be provided by the ticking-over-nicely e-mails and text messages we get during the show and - for those listening again -during the day.

I hope you're happy with that. If not let me know. That said, I'm keen to continue to go easy on features and leave as much room as possible to play records. And with that in mind do keep your request for sessions, concerts, records a coming. I will find them eventually. If they exist

With that in mind El Perro Del Mar and The Flys have been located should feature very soon.

Any more thoughts on what you'd like on the show - post them here please.

    Keep rocking

    Gidx

Might be too soon after going out the first time, but the Sons & Daughters session on Mr Riley's Brain Surgery the other night was well worth hearing again. Great guitar sound.

Looking forward to return of paintbox jury, but hoping it will span 2 days for those of us listen-againers / without a computer in the bed.

As for music, The Cure (don't care whether in live/session/record form) have been conspicuous by their absence lately, in my opinion anyway.

Yes, can we suggest the repeating of some Marc Riley sessions?

    Fanfarlo (Feb 23rd 2007)
    Broken Records (~Oct 4th 2007)
The Rosie Taylor Project (April 6th 2007)
Jeff&Jack Lewis of April 15th 2006 Rocket Science where they did "Moving" and a cover of "Arnold Layne"

Blimey, The Charalatans are never off "The Night".

Gideon must love them as much as 'It's Tricky' by RUN DMC.

May I suggest that all future scheduled plays of Charlatans records be replaced by Pavement, Smog, My Latest Novel or anyone of good quality?

Kudos to Steve for not only requesting a band, but also requesting the time to play them! Maybe you'd like to write a short introduction that Gid can read out word-for-word smiley - winkeye (I am told this is the interweb symbol for "harmless banter")

I'll keep a watch on the Charlatans-ometer. Don't want to overegg that pudding and you suggest some worthy alternatives. For your infO I've had to repel It's Tricky 3 times so far in The Night.

    Here to serve
    Gid

I think the show goes from strength to strength Gid, and you are well in your stride now (she says, patronisingly...). The music is much more diverse and balanced than it was at the start, just like it used to be, which is great. My husband pulls his glasses down and strains to read the digi-dial (duffer, anyone?) at least three times every half hour these days, which i believe is a good sign.

Now, just a bit more Broken Family Band and we're all set...

    good night! x

Blimey, I'm a lucky listener. Apparently, I can have anything I want. Thanks, Gideon.
