Mentioned by Gid on Wednesday night following an excellent example of 'High Risk Forecourt Duffing', the notion of a Duffer of the Year award was then muted by a keen listener. However, with many a duffer still languishing in the 'badge pending pile' due to the the current anti-competition climate, we must resign ourselves that this may never become a reality. Humph.
However, just for fun, what form could such an event take?!
Please suggest below suitable Duffer-esque options for...
*Awards and Duffer Categories,
The actual award (theme, size, shape and of course, cost)
*A sponsor, known for their duffer-esque brands,
*A suitable event location, which would feel homely to the humble Duffer (eg - Steam museum),
*A non-too-radical menu for the meal for the guests,
*Suitable incidental awards music
*A suitable start time, as obviously we wouldn't want Pro-Duffers to be out much past their bed time
*A Host.
I'll leave it with you.....
George Lamb would win the lot - no problem. Send him back to Radio 1 or E4 where he belongs.

I think a Duffer award would be a pair of actual Golden Slippers - not a perspex block or some sort of ornament. This way, the award would also be practical and would allow the winner to show off - albeit in a subtle way.
