Life in the bus lane

Q Where on earth did you get that name from?
A: The name The Bus Hookers has been around for the last 10 years in the minds of Sarah and Jay. It's inspired by the bizarre behaviour of two young women at a bus stop in Southampton.

Q: What do you think of the current music scene?
A: There are some great musicians around, and acoustic based music has been making a steady comeback for a number of years - the likes of Seth Lakeman, James Morrison, Joshua James, David Gray and Ray Lamontagne.

Q: Whose records do you have in your collection?
A: Each band member has their own influences. They range from Bob Dylan, Radiohead, Roy and Nick Harper, Seth Lakeman, Show of Hands, Joshua James, Tool, The Block Heads, Sound Garden, Ray Lamontagne.

Q: Tell us about the song you are auditioning here.
A: It's called Expecting Rain and it's written by Lee Coatham. It's about walking on Dartmoor and suddenly being taken by surprise by a thunder storm. The song starts with the storm waiting, creeping up on the unsuspecting traveller and exploding into a violent storm.

Q: Complete the sentence: When we become famous...
A: We would never forget where we came from, nor would we forget our closest loved ones.
