Q: So, who are Secondnature?
A: Secondnature is Lisa Berry on vocals and percussion and Dave Morris on guitar and vocals. Lisa is 36 and likes cats, swimming in the sea and the occasional glass of wine while Dave is 43 and dislikes Karaoke, groups that mime and TV reality shows!

Q: What's the history behind the duo?
A: We met in 2004 when Lisa joined a cover band Dave was in as vocalist. We soon started writing together and have just about finished writing our first album.

Q: Why did you decide to call yourselves Secondnature?
A: We think it's a good description of how we feel about playing music, to us it really is second nature.

Q: Which three words best describes your music?
A: Classic Melodic Rock.

Q: Tell us a little bit about the track you've chosen as your Devon Demo.
A: The track is called "You Leave Me Cold", it's about those slightly creepy kind of guys who try to impress everyone with their money, car, big house etc, but basically under that have no personality.

Q: What do the two of you think of the current music scene?
A: Unfortunately it's the same at the moment that it's ever been, there's too much hype for certain bands and not enough live music on TV.

Q: Do you have a most memorable gig?
A: Not yet, we're hoping our most memorable gigs will be when we get to play our new album live!

Q: Whose records do you have and who are your influences?
A: We love bands like Free, Led Zeppelin, Fleetwood Mac and The Pretenders.

Lisa's vocals have been influenced by artists such as Annie Lennox, Janis Joplin, Kate Bush and Chrissie Hynde. Dave's favourite guitarists include Paul Kossoff, Gary More and Jimmy Page.

Q: Imagine the perfect Secondnature dinner party, who would be the three guests?
A: We would invite Led Zepeplin manager Peter Grant to ask him to manage us, Free's guitarist Paul Kossoff before he lost the plot and Steve "Alan Partridge" Coogan, a-haaa!

Q: Complete the sentence, 'when we become famous...'
A: When we become famous we'll enjoy it while it lasts and hopefully make some timeless music.

Q: Whereabouts in Devon are you based and what are the highs and lows of Devon?
A: We're based in Paignton and we've played some great gigs locally, the Coach House and the Newquay Inn in Teignmouth but the downside is not being able to find enough venues to play seven nights a week!

Q: Here's your chance to sell yourself, what would you tell people?
A: Our music, be in the relentless guitar riffing of "Gunmetal" or the stripped down, slightly disturbing "You Leave Me Cold" should appeal to all fans of classic rock in Paignton and beyond!
