The Glenridding webcam

The name "Glenridding" means "glen overgrown with bracken". Glenridding is located on the A592 and sits on the southwestern side of Ullswater.

Lead ore was discovered by a Dutch team in the 1650s and mining began half a century later. Glenridding hit its peak as a mining community in 1825 and the surrounding area was changed significantly by the industry.
