Blimey. The end of the Max and Liz romance is pretty strong, painful stuff.
A Max from 2014 visits Liz and tells her the good news - she and Max get married, and have a wonderful life... but the bad news is that this causes the end of the world, and in order to save humanity, she has to stop it from happening.
This episode really showcases Liz, and in a good way. Her situation is heartbreaking - ironically, the doomed romance between Liz and Max becomes really fun and passionate in a way it just hasn't been all season.
The plot unravels like some kind of tragic farce, as Liz proceeds to stomp over Max's heart in a variety of surprisingly inventive ways.
It's an episode full of touching, bittersweet moments, including, oddly, the wince-inducing scene where Kyle and Liz snuggle up in bed, waiting to be discovered by Max.
Quick style note: This may be Liz's show, but Max gazers are rewarded not only with more topless Max, but also with future Max's long hair.
