Out of Their Minds
Teleplay by Michael Cassutt
Directed by Ian Watson

DID YOU NOTICE?

The title ‘Out of Their Minds’ doesn't describe what happens. But freelance screenwriter Michael Cassutt says that he chose it in part as a nod to a novel of that name by Clifford Simak that he likes.

Why didn't Moya starburst away at the first sign of danger?

Why was Zhaan the one sent over to the alien ship – and how did she manage to get there before Crichton and the rest had got out of bed?

Why didn't Moya swap bodies with anyone?

The first two times the aliens Yoz and Tak fired on Moya, the same crew were together: Aeryn, Crichton and Rygel in one part of the ship; Pilot, D'Argo and Chiana in another.

What are the odds that the defence shield being at 62% would be exactly right to prevent destruction and cause the body-swapping? Quite high, actually, as a fluke accident is a fluke at any percentage, but what are the odds that the shield would just happen to hit exactly 62% again the second time?

Why didn't Talyn destroy the alien ship? What was Talyn looking for anyway? Crais says he just wants safe passage through the area but why even come out of starburst at that point, why not just fly right on by?

If the body-swapping ultimately resulted in D'Argo and Chiana getting together, and perhaps then also Crichton and Aeryn, did Pilot give Rygel a funny look?
