What do they do?

The company has toured nationally with their tions "Scary Antics" and "Fallen Angels" which premiered in Coventry. Its work has been described as "surreal, beautiful, mesmerising...on the borderlines of theatre, dance and mime... visually stunning".

They lead workshops and residencies to develop performing arts work with a wide variety of similar groups, organisations and special schools in the region.

The Shysters and the Belgrade Theatre

ΜύThe Shysters
Catherine, an actress in the Shyster Theatre Group
The Shysters continue to enjoy a close relationship with the Belgrade Theatre.

Notable examples include their involvement in the Millennium Mysteries (August 2000) and A Midsummer Night's Dream (October 2001).

A Midsummer Night's Dream did much to raise their profile nationally. The Shysters played "the Mechanical" and their role was significantly billed as a collaboration between the Belgrade Theatre and The Shysters.

The Shysters themselves involve everyone they meet in their work. They have developed a wide network of organisations and companies in the region and across the country, which have common aims and interests.

Furthermore, they have discovered the name Shyster is now well known and many people have started to contact them wanting to work together, to get the Shyster effect.

ShysterShadows and the ShysterShakers

This is an exciting and challenging time of expansion for The Shysters. In addition to all the production work they are undertaking they have also set up The ShysterShadows.

This is a group for young adults aged 16-24 with learning difficulties.

The ShysterShakers is a fundraising support group who have become invaluable to the group and their growth.
