The British Horse Society's Rescue Centre, based in Oxhill, Warwickshire, rescues and rehabilitates horses and ponies in cases of neglect and cruelty.

The society is a registered charity that aims to re-home rescued animals so they may fulfill useful active lives. It has been committed to this cause for over a decade.

Horses and ponies that cannot be re-homed, because they need long-term care and rehabilitation, are placed on the Adopt a pony Sponsorship Scheme. Read on to find out more about the society and the scheme.

Cobweb made an amazing recovery at the British Horse Society
Cobweb was rescued from a housing estate chained to a stake.

Abandoned and in poor condition, he was suffering with strangles.

Strangles is a potentially life-threatening disease but once rescued he was isolated and then transferred to the British Horse Society Rescue Centre.

Cobweb has made great progress since being at the centre and is now almost fully recovered.

Casper was an unwanted Christmas present who was kept in a garden shed for months.

Now Casper is healthy and well-cared-for at the British Horse Society Rescue Centre where he is the centre's mascot.

How to adopt a pony
Μύ
For as little as a Β£10 donation a year, you can help towards the cost of feeding and care of a rescued horse or pony.

It costs around Β£60 per week to look after each pony in the centre's care.

You can help the centre to continue giving the kind of loving care these horses and ponies.

You can make a donation or adopt one of these maltreated ponies for yourself or as a gift.

Follow the adopt a pony information link on the left to find out more.
