The focus of Recovery magazine is on creativity. Part of the philosophy behind Recovery is to print creative work by people who are in a recovery period in their lives, whether from unemployment, stress, mental health, drugs problems or disabilities.

The magazine is not exclusively for people in recovery. The magazine features poetry, stories, articles, artwork, plus useful health-related information and humorous features.

Big Sky Big Cloud by Colin Slater
The Community Arts Workshop felt there was a need for a magazine like Recovery in Leamington and the surrounding area.

So far the feedback has been very positive. The project started officially in August 2001, when we received funding from the MIND Millennium Awards, which has provided cash to run the project for one year.

Ìý'Anger' drawing for Recovery magazine
Anger by Paul Russel
We hope that by publishing work by people who may not normally have their work appear in print, we can promote confidence.

Being included in the magazine shows people their work has value and is appreciated.

For people who are vulnerable and may be feeling cut of from society it also offers the chance to be a part of something with worthwhile aims.

We're always interested in new work as contributions to the magazine are vital to its success.

Please email using the address on the left or send your contribution on a floppy disk to the address below.

It can be work on any subject. It doesn't have to have rhyme or reason. Your work could be joyful, angry, funny or absurd, whatever's your bag.

We'll try to include as much as possible, but can't guarantee inclusion.

Any suggestions on content or ideas for the magazine are welcome.
