| | From mouse counting to finger puppets, bird cakes and hedge planting, they have activities to educate and entertain children and adults of all ages at Brandon Marsh.
Even if you don't want to get involved in the activities,there's plenty to see and do if you just explore the nature centre, which is the HQ of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust.
Brandon Marsh Nature Centre has 200 acres of quiet natural beauty with lakes, marshes and woodland to explore.
If you would like a day out at the nature centre, entry costs just £2.50 for adults, 50p for children and £1.50 concessions.
To make your visit a little more special, you could take part in one of the many events the centre has organised for half-term.

Brandon Marsh is a Site of Special Scientific Interest with nature trails and five bird hides.
Depending on the time of year, visitors can see migrating waders, breeding warblers or year-round residents like kingfishers, coots or moorhens.
For simple exploration, you can follow the Onyx Nature Trail, which winds around the wildlife habitats of the nature reserve, ending at the visitor centre.
Visitor centre
The Brandon Marsh visitor centre contains displays, hands-on activities and information about the nature reserve, as well as a tea room and shop.
The centre is also where some of the events and activities take place, although there is now a purpose-built education centre on-site, too.

Brandon Marsh has a number of two-hour workshops for children aged 4-11 lined-up for half-term.
The workshops cost £4 and parents are also invited to accompany their children during the activities.

WINTER WONDERLAND
Find natural materials on the nature reserve to make into a mobile to hang at home. Discover which animals are brave enough to go out in the cold and enjoy a slide show about what animals do in the winter.

WILD ABOUT ART
Help to create an outdoor art gallery using natural materials in the woodland. Make your own natural postcard and other wildlife themed creations.

BEAUTIFUL BIRDS
Venture down to a bird hide on the nature reserve to watch the birds at play before making a colourful bird mask and a special bird cake to feed the birds at home.

RABBITS GALORE
Thursday 20 February 10.30am - 12.30pm for 4 - 7 year olds 2pm - 4pm for 8 - 11 year olds
Visit the meadow to spy on the wild rabbits, play rabbit games and make a rabbit mask and finger puppet.

Friday 21 February 10.30am - 12.30pm for 4 - 7 year olds 2pm - 4pm for 8 - 11 year olds
BATTY ABOUT BATS
Watch a slide show to learn fascinating 'batty' facts, play 'batty' games and have a go at making a 'batty' mobile. Follow the bat trail and look for bat boxes, you may even dress up as a bat!

TREASURE HUNT LUNCH
Use your powers of deduction in our Treasure Hunt for all the family. The trail will take you around the nature reserve searching for clues and picking up useful information along the way.
A prize will be awarded at Badgers Tearoom, along with a three-course Sunday lunch.
Cost (including lunch): £10.00 per person or £35.00 for a family ticket (two adults and two children).

Brandon Marsh Nature Centre also organises events especially for very small children.
During half term, they are hosting a Wildlife Tots - Winter Birds event.
Children must be accompanied by an adult.

WINTER BIRDS
Take a ramble on the reserve to visit a bird hide and discover what birds are on the lakes before creating a bird mask and making a bird cake to feed the birds at your home.

Half term treats aren't only for the kids.
Warwickshire Wildlife Trust is also offering adults the chance to get their hands dirty with some good honest conservation work, or to gain experience of animal surveying.
Each event costs £7.50, or £5 for trust members.
Sunday 16 February, 10am - 1pm
PLANTING NEW HEDGEROWS
Try your hand at planting a new hedge alongside Stonebridge Meadows Local Nature Reserve with the Warwickshire Wildlife Trust reserves team, and brush up on your winter twig identification.
Location: Stonebridge Meadows, Coventry - meet in the car park at Brandon Marsh Nature Centre, Brandon Lane, Coventry for mini-bus transfer to the site.

HARVEST MOUSE SURVEYING AND TRAPPING
Previous experience is not needed when you join Tony Ware, Warwickshire's Mammal Recorder as, together with Warwickshire's Mammal Group, you will be shown the best way to survey harvest mice, one of our smallest native mammals, and learn about the use of Longworth traps.
Adults only.

Location
Brandon Marsh Nature Centre is located on the banks of the River Avon 1.5 miles from Brandon Village, near Coventry.
It is very accessible by car, just off the A45 to the south-east of Coventry, motorists can follow the brown tourist signs for Nature Centre.
Opening times
Brandon Marsh Nature Centre is open weekdays from 9am-5pm and on weekends at 10am-4pm.
Entrance fee
Entrance is £2.50 for adults, £1 for children or £6 per family.
Entrance is free to Warwickshire Wildlife Trust members.
