CoventryBears Under 14s Having progressed to the play-offs in the Lordβs Taverners Ford Inner Cities Cup, the Bears couldnβt keep the momentum going and missed out on the final after crashing out of the group stages. The city side were unlucky after being drawn in a tough group which included Edinburgh, Northampton and finalists Cardiff (who were eventually defeated by champions Sunderland). The Lordβs Taverners chief executive Matthew Patten said: βThe youngsters from Coventry were a credit to their city. The great thing about The Ford Inner Cities Cup is that it gives city youngsters the opportunity to take part in a national competition and compete in the type of beautiful setting that only Arundel can provide.β
