Open mic night at Esquires Café

Some of the best local acoustic artists take to the stage at this intimate gig in the heart of Coventry’s city centre at the transport museum.

With its relaxed atmosphere and laid-back music, this gig made brilliant Friday night entertainment. A range of different artists performed, all giving energetic and powerful performances.

First up was host of the event, Kristy Gallacher, who gave a very polished performance. She clearly puts all her energy into her gigs and her uplifting vocals easily rival mainstream artists.

A few artists took the opportunity of the open mic and performed two songs each - all to rapturous applause.

Chloe Evans wowed the audience with a brilliant cover of Adele’s hit Â鶹ԼÅÄtown Glory, which many people were singing along to and clearly enjoying.

Barricades Rise performance started by breaking a guitar string, but then got into their stride by performing with intense energy and delivering their unique raspy, rugged and dark vocals.

Their performance had continuous energy and had plenty of audience participation. Everyone was clapping along with the songs and they had a brilliant reception from everyone there.

Closing the show was Milly Winter who gave a quirky and upbeat performance, and even received an encore at the end of her set.

The entire evening had a brilliant atmosphere and was very well received by the audience.

The next open mic night to be held at Esquires Café at the transport museum is on the 21 August 2009.
