CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ and Blue Peter earlier this summer launched the CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ me and my movie project. The project has been set up to help children aged between seven and 14 to make their own film.Μύ

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Coventry & Warwickshire's Open Centre and Open Lounge are two of 19 training bases across the country, and will train nearly 100 kids by the end of the summer holidays.

The CΒι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ me and my movie experience will include learning about film genres, the types of shots that are used and how to use basic film making equipment.Μύ

After learning the basics they take up their 'film-in-a-day' challenge.ΜύGiven a particular genre and a bag full of props, they have to devise their film, create a shot list, script and allocate the acting roles.ΜύThis is soon followed by going out on location where the acting, camera work, sound operation, directing is all carried out by the six person teams in rotation.Μύ

After a quick lunch break, they move on to the edit, watching back the rough version of their films and have to tidy up the beginning and end of each scene, adding titles, credits and sound effects.ΜύBy teatime they have a short film made in a day.
