School ReportYou are in: Cornwall > School Report > Penryn Prepares Penryn PreparesStudents at Penryn College have been preparing for their Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ School Report bulletin which going out on March 26. Pupils have been planning and recording interviews whilst presenting links between stories. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Cornwall went to visit their newsroom. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News School Report gives school pupils between 11-14 years-old in local areas a chance to make their own news reports for a real audience. The students get to choose, plan and write their own interviews to go out on the big day. Interviewing for the programme. Penryn College is one of the few schools that are taking part in Cornwall. They are covering a range of topical news stories from all over the world. Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Cornwall's James Miners went to the college to speak to the teachers that were organising this year's school report.
Help playing audio/video Stories include recent news on abortion advertising, attitudes in football and rugby and cyber bullying, all contemporary issues researched and produced by the pupils. The school's programme is being presented by two lead presenters Rosie and Kia who will introduce the programmes stories and link between the features that have been produced by the children. James Miners spoke to the girls about their preparations for the broadcast.
Help playing audio/video Each feature in the programme has been suggested, researched, written and finally recorded by the students. For each story the pupils will interview subjects for their stories, take pictures and film for reports on digital cameras. News anchors Rosie and Kia. The pupils will then edit their footage on a computer suite in their school newsroom and add it to their main programme which will be broadcast at 2.30pm on the day. On his trip to the Penryn newsroom James also spoke to some of the male journalists in the newsroom.
