The Precious Lives event for hungry people in north Cornwall was organised by a group of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Cornwall listeners in Tintagel.

Fundraising friends

The group of friends stage events every year to raise money for various charities, and this year they have chosen Precious Lives.Μύ

The smell of bacon attracted many people to the Methodist Sunday School room.

"Bacon, eggs, sausages, hash browns, mushrooms and more," smiles Elaine, one of the volunteers cooking in the kitchen.

"Precious Lives is wonderful. It's a marvellous thing."

"We have fundraised for many years for different charities," says Gladys Cook one of the organisers.

"When Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Cornwall launched their support, we thought we'd do the same.

"It's so important we have one in Cornwall."

And the customers we very happy.

"I have had a very good breakfast," smiles Roger, one of the customers. "It's a really good cause, and we have had a really good start to the day."

The Methodist church in Tintagel is also staging an Elvis Gospel Night with Johnny Cowling on Sunday 20 April 2008 in aid of the Precious Lives Appeal. It gets underway at 7.30pm.Μύ

So far Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Cornwall listeners have helped raise Β£70,000 for Precious Lives.
