Emma Murray, who won a music scholarship to Polwhele House School in Truro will play the viola for the acclaimed orchestra. Cornwall's Emma Murray was among more than 800 children nationwide, aged seven to 14, who auditioned for one of the five age-banded orchestras. Help playing audio/video Emma, previously a pupil of St Neot Primary School, will benefit from high-class tuition at a week-long residential course in August.ΜύThis will conclude with a concert given to parents and friends.Μύ Emma is delighted with the news She will also take part in an NCO gala concert for all five orchestras at Birmingham Symphony Hall on 30 August 2008. She is hoping her performance this year will help elevate her into the main orchestra in subsequent years.ΜύLast year the main orchestra, which performs concerts up and down the country, enjoyed a trip to China.ΜύThis year it will visit the Italian island of Ischia in the Tyrrhenian Sea. "I am very much looking forward to a wonderful opportunity to improve my playing and make new friends,β said Emma, who also plays the violin and piano and sings in the Polwhele House choir. Emma rehearsing "She is an extremely talented and versatile young musician who has been at the forefront of our newly reformed school orchestra, who will be playing in our own spring concert," said Headmaster Mr Jo Mason.Μύ "Emma has a great passion for music and we are all very proud of her. I am sure she will derive great benefit from a very enriching experience with the national orchestra."
