Stephanie Pedrick is the manager of Oak Park Care Farms in Cornwall. A teacher with a degree in horticulture she decided to set up the centre in 2003 on her parents farm to give people with learning disabilites a way of integrating into the community and stimulated to work to their full potential rather than being mollycoddled.

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Cornwall's Lisa Woodruff dug out her wellies and headed to the care farm to find out more.

Down on the farm, manager Stephanie Pedrick is proud of what Roseland Care Farm has achieved and especially the success stories that have come out of it.

There are 70 farms like Stephanie's scattered throughout the UK, all with one main aim, to provide people with learning difficulties with the opportunity to be at one with nature, learn new skills and integrate into the community.

The care farm has already proved its popularity and another farm is being leased by the county council to offer more adult social care users the chance to work on a farm.

As well as gaining skills the users produce and sell all the organic vegetables grown on the farm at the farm shop in Liskeard.Μύ

Stephanie has high hopes for the future and wants to see the adult social care users showing some of the farm animals at the Royal Cornwall Show.

As well as giving people the chance to work with the animals the care farm also offersΜύ the farmer a viable living, as well as contributing to preserving the Cornish countryside.
