Surf Film Night

Cornwall Film Festival are celebrating the surf/ skate/ marine and extreme sport films made in Cornwall by having an enormous surf/skate party at The Stannary on Tremough Campus in Penryn Friday 18 November.


The surf film competition and party will showcase surf/skate/extreme sports and marine films made by local filmmakers.

Lucy Frears, Film Festival Director says: "We start off the night with an exciting body-boarding feature by Mickey Smith – then at 9pm the party really kicks off with three local bands playing and Rawplug Sounds will DJ while the films are screened. All 1000 people there will have the chance to vote which local filmmaker wins the Big Wednesday surfboard."

From 9pm the party really get's started with three local bands including; Miss World who are about to launch their latestÌý EP Serial Killer/For Fcuk's sake. The Mosquitoes who play a mix of Anglo-Spanish-Footie-Punk andÌý The All-Day Breakfast Band, ‘They eat all day and party all night.’’ A ‘‘cookin’’ six-piece funky groove machine.

There will be lots of give-aways and a chance to win and buy essentials at the Surfers Against Sewage, Big Wednesday stalls in the venue.Ìý

The Surf film fight and party is on Friday 18 November 2005 at The Stannary, Tremough Campus, Penryn.

From Tuesday 1st November onwards tickets will be £10, which includes entry to the Festival Practical Workshops with reservation.
