Complaint
A listener complained that the programme’s interview with the Defence Secretary reflected bias in favour of Israel and set out a number of points on which he believed the Defence Secretary should have been challenged.Β The ECU considered the complaint in the light of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s editorial standards of impartiality.
Outcome
While putting the point suggested by the complainant might have added to the interest of the interview, they were not essential to achieving impartiality, and the elements of challenge by the interviewer were sufficient to meet the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s standards in that respect.
