Outcome
The inaccuracy had already been acknowledged by ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ News, and a posting on the Corrections and Clarifications page of bbc.co.uk, which made clear that the creation of the State of Israel preceded the Arab-Israeli war of 1948-9.Β In the view of the ECU, this sufficed to resolve the issue of complaint.
