Complaint
The bulletin included an item on a report by the Nuffield Trust, commissioned by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ, which showed that the ratio of GPs in the UK had fallen from 65 to 60 per 100,000 people over the previous five years.Β A viewer complained that this gave a misleading impression of the situation in Scotland.
Outcome
Over the same period, the ratio in Scotland had not fallen significantly (while it had risen in Northern Ireland).Β By presenting only the overall UK figure, the item gave a misleading impression in those respects.
