We are seeing incredible progress in her development and the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Lifeline Appeal will enable more children like her to have access to this expertise
Supporter and match funder for the Auditory Verbal appeal
The supporters of Auditory Verbal UK’s Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Lifeline Appeal raised an incredible £24,324.83 which has been match funded by a generous supporter. The total of £48,650 will ensure Auditory verbal can help deaf children with cochlear implants in the early years.
Auditory Verbal UK’s appeal followed the stories of three deaf young people who use cochlear implants. Kurran, 15, from Essex, who is profoundly deaf and has cerebral palsy, appeared in the film alongside Hope, eight, and Mia aged four, both from London.
Kurran, Hope and Mia all attended the charity Auditory Verbal UK when they were young. Auditory Verbal UK supports families in teaching their babies and young children with hearing loss to listen and talk.
The goal at Auditory Verbal UK is for deaf children to reach age-appropriate language before they start school so that they can get an equal start. Eighty percent of those who attend Auditory Verbal UK for at least two years achieve age-appropriate language. The impact of this is life-long.
The funds raised through the appeal will make sure that deaf children don’t miss out on this life-changing service due to household income. We want to thank every person who donated towards the appeal and for changing the lives of deaf children in the UK.
