Carbon footprints

Footprints in Petty Curry

Best foot forwards

Have you noticed the giant, blue footprints in Cambridge city centre? We get a foothold on the situation to tell you what they're about.

The good, environment loving folk of Cambridge have been asked to put their best foot forward in the battle against carbon emissions. In fact, they're being encouraged by a giant, blue, pavement dwelling footprint which has found its home in Market Square.

Carbon footprints

Put your foot down

The larger than life pair of human appendage prints have been placed by the government's Act on CO2 campaign, which provides a website where the public can work out exactly how big their carbon footprint actually is.

Shoppers and tourists who walk down the pedestrianised Petty Curry have been stopped in their tracks by the Goliath prints, which will be in the city until 9th April, 2008.

Over half a million green minded souls have already visited the website in order to find out how they can take a step in the right direction when it comes to reducing their emissions.

But are the big blue feet doing the job? Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Cambridgeshire's Waseem Mirza went down town to find out if they would persuade us to change our lifestyles.
