Get arty across West Yorkshire!

What do these three have in common? They've all been official arts reporters for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ West Yorkshire website! Now, it's someone else's turn - and this year it could be YOU! Fancy getting arty across West Yorkshire in summer 2008? Read on...

First there was Emma from Brighouse (liked Punk, loved kickboxing, described herself as 'overwhelmingly blunt'). Then there was Esther from Halifax via Bradford (liked films, hated ice cream, 'serious, silly and sarcastic'). And finally there was Faye from Leeds (liked food, loved reggae, hated...errr...pigeons, 'I just dream to be successful and not be bored'). All three applied to become 'Blast' reporter for bbc.co.uk/westyorkshire and all three hit the jackpot. That was then, but this is now. In 2008 it's YOUR chance to join up with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ West Yorkshire webteam and get writing!

What's it all about? Well, just take a look at what Emma, Esther and Faye got up to! They all headed out across West Yorkshire to find out more about the arty stuff that's going on every day right on our doorsteps!

You'll be expected to cover all sorts of arty goings-on in West Yorkshire - and then get creative by writing reports, taking photos and perhaps even making videos about what you've seen. If you love the arts and want to the opportunity to share your thoughts, experiences and arts knowledge with everybody else, then Blast is for you!

All we ask is that you have a proven interest in the arts and have the vision to turn your ideas into content for the web - with a little help from the friendly Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ West Yorkshire webteam who are based in the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ office high up on the third floor of the National Media Museum in Bradford!

So if you're wondering how to spend your summer, have some spare time and fancy adding 'Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Blast Reporter' to your list of achievements it couldn't be easier to apply! You don't need to be a budding journalist, you just need passion for the arts and the media!

PLEASE NOTE: This is a flexible placement over an eight-week period, working two days a week and due to Health and Safety considerations, the placement targets applicants aged 18 and over. The successful applicant will be based with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ West Yorkshire website team in the National Media Museum, Bradford.
