Alfred Bradley Bursary Award - Winner Announced

We're delighted to announce the winner of the Alfred Bradley Bursary Award for Radio Drama writers in the north of England. The winner was chosen from 279 entries and gains a 12 month mentorship with a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Drama producer and the opportunity to gain a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 4 drama commission.

4 New Short Audio Dramas Commissioned

Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Writersroom worked in collaboration with Radio Drama North and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 3's The Verb. Four writers were commissioned to write a 5 minute audio drama script and appear as a guest on one of the programmes.

Northern Voices is a scheme for exciting diverse writing talent based in the North of England. The group is made up of ten writers, who will undertake a 12 month development programme, looking to expand their writing skills and break in to writing for broadcast.

Kudos North Writers' Award - Winners Announced

Katie Mulgrew, Helen Black and Niki Rooney have been announced as the winners of the Kudos North Writers' Award - the 3 winners each receive a Β£2000 prize to option their idea and bring it into development with mentorship from acclaimed northern writers Danny Brocklehurst and Stephen Butchard.

The 1Xtra Live monologues were an exciting new project inspired by the artists and music from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 1Xtra Live in Manchester in November 2017. We put a callout for Manchester-based writers on our website, workshopped and filmed the successful scripts to publish on social media.
