Regarding the article on abortion and the 24 week limit, my son was born at 24 weeks gestation in Oxford. there were a significant number of other babies there born at 24 weeks and before. Has the government listened to neonatal paediatricians? I find it hard to believe that they have given the recent comments about a lack of evidence.

My son is now a happy and healthy 2 1/2 year old that is eager for his teatime cake that he chose while we walked round the supermarket.

While he was in hospital, even in his first few weeks, he would respond to touch and our voices, becoming less distressed when held and talked to. He was a baby at 24 weeks, and is now a happy child that loves playing with his sister.

Why is the fire in California always refered to as a 'Wildfire' by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ ? Earlier in the year similar fires in Greece were just 'Fires'.

    Jacques (2) has a point.

The Greek fires are said to have been due to arson. Are we to believe that the term "wildfire" means that these Californian ones are not arson, but, well, wild? How do they know - why should Greeks be more likely to arson than Californians?

It also strikes me that the reported costs of the fires between Greece and California themselves deserve a second look.

mac, this Nobel bloke appears to be saying that genetic heritage makes a difference.

You are saying that genetic heritage makes a difference.

You are both judging people on their parents.

I wish you would shut up about this pet maggot of yours, because I think it is a lot more sensible to judge people for themselves, which they can do something about, than for their grandparents, about whom let's face it there is nothing whatever they can do.

I know wasters from every 'class'; don't you? Or are you saying you think that a waster whose parents were not 'upper class' is somehow better because of that?

Either way, d'you think you could throw your views on everyone having to dig ditches in order to be Worthy in where they fit, rather than shoehorning them in where they're frankly irrelevant?

Deepthought - It is pretty well established that a lot of the fires in Greece were deliberately started. One of the supposed motives was to allow the 'devastated' forested areas to be re-zoned and made available for development.

I found myself tut-tutting during the 'flu vaccine piece. It seemed a bit unecessarily alarmist to try (twice, at least) to get your interviewee to say that having the 'flu jab could be dangerous...
    Loving your work otherwise Sequin

Doesn't "Mac" mean "Son of,"? That would explain a predisposition to looking for hereditary features?

VH @ 9, so it does, and so it would. Well spotted you! :-)

I feel that I should add that I posted that thing *once*, and was told it was held for acceptance; I did not repeat not post it twice, as it appeared I had. There was no need for me to do so! Bah.

If conflict is due to failed repentance and repentance is part of Jewish, Muslim and Christian teaching, should we not have an evolving international consensus on factors which facilitate repentance? Would facilitation of repentance reduce conflict?
