Stand-in
You know how much I love doing PM and filling in for Eddie. We've drunk the cocktail cabinet dry, eaten all his chocolates and taken the keys to the blog and crashed it. I haven't touched his bottle of Japanese Diet Coke yet - but heck. I've still got a week to go....
Today, however, we are having to look like we're doing some serious work because we have a film crew following us around. BlogPrince says he'll try to snap them in action and post it later.
They're doing a film for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's College of Journalism about "Being a stand-in presenter". Yours truly has to explain how to fit into EM's unique way of doing things without upsetting the apple cart.
I've written this blog while the crew have gone off to lunch.

The crew have returned from lunch, and in this photo you can see the cameraman filming the PM team in action. CQ is to the right in the fetching green cardi. Opposite her, by the window is the PM number 2, Amanda. She's at the beck and call of the man to her right, Roger, who is editing this evening's programme. He's famed in the office for his half-hearted impressions of Rodin's "Thinker".

Bei mir, you're the best possible stand-in, and seem to truly enter into the unique spirit of the programme/cult. Any chance of an occasional (or permanent?) double-act? Not in these times of financial constraint, I suspect.
Probably it'll be an exemplary film for the budding journos. Stand-in AND cross-platform!

quit When the quit statement is read, the bc processor is terminated, regardless of where the quit statement is found. For example, "if (0 == 1) quit" will cause bc to terminate.
(Seen in the manpage for "bc". Note the "if" statement's logic)

It did tend to cause havoc with the the old studer tape machines at LBC in the 'old days' I recall - wrapping itself around the guide rollers and sticking to splicing tape etc... thank goodness technology has moved on.
Sequin looks at peace with her fetching green number - clashing a little with 'Roger the red'!
I hope the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's College of Journo's stick the finished production on 'YouTube' for us all to have a look.

I sincerely hope so! How're you getting on with OO? I've found it a lot more versatile than M$. My ubuntu can dig a file out of my old M$ partition with such ease I think I'll finally shut the door on windows ;-)

Whatever it is, it's a bizarre item to find in a newsroom.Great pic though NBP. Thanks for "sneaking" for us. Will there be copyright issues? And did you have to ask the crew's permission to photograph them? Isn't life complicated these days?
Who else heard that bizarre pedant's pedant on the Today Prog this a. m.? Wasn't he deadly boring? I hope you got to hear it Carolyn. I'm sure it's what all presenters need - someone in an office checking your every phrase for grammatical correctness, & giving you "notes" after the show.
Someone email Eddie & tell him it's an "improvement" that's just been introduced while he's away. Just for the hell of it. You should be able to hear his reaction from the office.

Ed, OO working well really. I installed in on one pC at work for one of my staff and the only comment she made was the print button has moved!. That to me suggests a successful migration. Not sure what will happen on the reception PC when I do the same.
I think Sequin deserves a day on the Beach in a hammock with a large G&T and Sean Bean to attend to her every need......
