I have discovered , which is currently running a very comprehensive wire service for humanitarian agencies dealing with the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. There is extremely detailed information on where the refugees are going, when, in what numbers etc - though most postings are reliant on the Lebanese governemnt for casualty figures. I would have thought Red Cross/Crescent posting is useful to any journalist on the ground scrambling to find out what's going on. it's a combination of newswires plus aid agency and government announcements - and you will like it if you like news as it appears before journalsts get hold of it. It's a very interesting website. The maps they provide are very detailed and showed two very interesting points. The first is that much of Lebanon has been attacked, not just the south of the country. The second is that many major towns in the south of Lebanon have yet to receive a single convoy of aid. With many of the roads destroyed, and the prospect of being bombed when you try to drive along them, the people left in these villages and towns have little or no food to keep them alive.

Still no sign of any UN Force to supplement the Lebanese army & occupy the area as designated in the agreement?... it beggars belief that these policies was not thrashed out( in the background) whilst attempting to get a ceasefire... is it beyone the UNs savvy that this would be the first important & necessary requirement once a peace agreement had been reached...talk about ... getting drunk & breweries!!
