...I spent yesterday reporting on the , which has a curiously large number of loose ends. As we reported - making nuclear power economic depends on the government either making the Emissions Trading Scheme drive the price of carbon up 2.5 times what it is now: OR the government taking "further measures". Following conversations with sources close to those who will take them, I now believe those measures will involve the UK government setting a minimum price on carbon, independent of the ETS. Interesting, no?
You could watch it all online except that the inclusion of large amounts of Syd Barrett footage in the programme means it is not available online until the man who looks after e-Newsnight fillets the programme into smaller bits.
