Time's out

Mark D'Arcy | 16:16 UK time, Wednesday, 3 March 2010

As predicted below, business in the Commons has petered out early again. The adjournment debate, the normal end to a day's business, began at 3.34pm ( from Mid Dorset and North Poole, discussing the Proposed Poole Bridge, since you ask).

So just a perfunctory three hours on the second reading of the Bribery Bill, with the chamber all but deserted. Unless I blinked and missed something, there were just two backbench contributions (honourable mentions to and ).

And that's another few hours of precious Commons debating time not used... remember this, when the excuse is offered that Parliament doesn't have the time to legislate on something.
