A new record?

Mark D'Arcy | 17:50 UK time, Friday, 26 February 2010

private member's bill protecting tenants whose landlords have defaulted on their mortgage (see posts below) received a third reading in the Commons today (Friday) in 34 seconds flat.

His bill had all-party support and was not amended during its committee stage - so it was simply nodded through at the end of the day's main business. It now zooms hotfoot to the Lords, where, judging by his success so far, Dr Iddon doubtless has a cunning plan to whiz it past their Lordships, before the election.
