Today sees the final instalment of our series of blog posts by �鶹Լ�� Introducing musicians on their favourite bits of 2013 and hopes for next year. You can find the other posts by Glitches, Winterfalle, Jay Brown and Theo Bass here. Tasked with answering our questions below is Gina from Screaming Maldini, the group supported by our show in Sheffield who graced our first ever stage at Hyde Park back in September.

Describe Screaming Maldini in one sentence: Six very uncool people hoping to bring all that's quirky yet catchy to the ears of the masses.

How have you been involved with �鶹Լ�� Introducing in 2013? We have a great relationship with �鶹Լ�� Intro Sheffield and were lucky enough to be chosen to perform at �鶹Լ�� Radio 2's big day out in Hyde Park earlier this year.

Highlight of the year? It's a tie between an over capacity album launch in Sheffield at The Harley and playing Hyde Park. It is Hyde Park after all. And hearing yourself accompany awkward moments on Made In Chelsea is also pretty ace.

Tell us your three favourite ways to connect with fans, new and old: We always try to keep on top of our social media, twitter, facebook, e-mails. We love making our music inclusive and are always asking fans for ideas and even to help us out for the odd music video, drawing on their knowledge and expertise! Plus we have some big plans for our fans next year, thinking outside the box.

What is the biggest challenge facing you in 2014? Releasing new material and making sure it's heard by the right ears. In order to do this we need to make a plan and to support that plan, we'll need the finances too. It's easy to neglect the business side of things, so don't!

Tell us something that will trend in 2014: Singer songwriters on a bed of electronic beats and glitches. Think Sampha and Lorde.

Give us a New Year’s Resolution: To never stop writing. Richard Hawley said that. (Well he said that to The Crookes and then The Crookes said that to us - Sheffield is a village after all).

Past, Present and Future with Theo Bass

Day four of our Past, Present and Future posts has come round quick. Feel free to look back at previous posts by Glitches, Winterfalle and Jay Brown here but today is all about Theo Bass, an electro-producer who has only recently been introduced to our team in Oxford. Here he talks about slotting back into a band and what he has in store for 2014.

How have you been involved with �鶹Լ�� Introducing in 2013? I sent my tracks in via the Uploader. I live round the corner so I went in and did a brief intro for one of my songs, and met Dave and Liz at �鶹Լ�� Oxford. I really appreciate them giving my music some airtime.

Highlight of the year? Playing in a band again. I did a couple of laptop shows but it wasn't the same.. just too lonely. We love doing the songs live as well, it adds a whole new dimension.

Tell us your three favourite ways to connect with fans, new and old: I like talking to people in person who have enjoyed the music. I can't say I've thought about fans yet though. To date we've only played two shows. Let's hope I can answer this question better in a few months.

What is the biggest challenge facing you in 2014: To actually finish songs and release them. Right now I have an album's worth of music, but I tend to stop working on them right before they're completely finished. Then they sit on my hard-drive for months, being continually tweaked but never finished.

Tell us something that will trend in 2014: More generally, i'll be looking out for a new Panda Bear album.. a new tUnE-yArDs album.. a new Caribou album? any combination of these will make me happy.

Give us a New Year’s Resolution: To play more shows at venues that have progressively bigger sound-systems. We like to play loud at times.

Past, Present and Future with Winterfalle

The third in our series of Past, Present and Future posts (check here for the ones by Glitches and Jay Brown) is by Winterfalle, an artist suggested to us by our show in Jersey and a music project that has only existed for a few months. Here's Sam Falle to explain more...

Describe yourself in one sentence: I’m a baritone storyteller from the Island of Jersey who sings about small-town love and small-town loss.

How have you been involved with �鶹Լ�� Introducing in 2013? Since launching Winterfalle in October, I’ve been interviewed by �鶹Լ�� Introducing Jersey, played on �鶹Լ�� Introducing across England and featured on the �鶹Լ�� 6Music Introducing Mixtape. I’ve been taken aback by the support – it means a hell of a lot to me.

Highlight of the year? Releasing my debut song, I Know. I recorded it in my bedroom and then we shot the video (below) at home with London-based Jersey filmmaker Todd Macdonald. The video is me and some friends re-enacting the same kind of night we used to have when we were 17 or 18. So that was obviously a bit of a laugh even if the song's about how you can't do that past a certain point and pretend it's cute!

Tell us your three favourite ways to connect with fans, new and old: The music is about a certain time and a certain place - about being young and being in Jersey - but I still want to invite people into that world and I hope it connects with anyone who has ever grown up in small place or in a close-knit community.

I also think people appreciate seeing something a bit different and I want to make a live show that's a bit more theatrical, one that takes in film and poetry and storytelling as much as song.

And I don't ever want to forget the island. It's where I'm from so I want to continue to tell Jersey stories and show people what that place is all about.

What is the biggest challenge facing you in 2014? Making Winterfalle stuff and building an audience while getting by in London. I’m just lucky to work with some really creative and talented mates who are helping make Winterfalle what it is.

Tell us something that will trend in 2014: I think we’ll see folk and dance colliding more. You've got guys like Deptford Goth or Forest Swords or my friends in Groves (yeah, some of them are from Jersey too) who have got their single Paperback playing on Radio 1. In a completely different way, you've got Introducing Lancashire darling Tom Hyatt (my mate and rival) reviving a kind of folksy John Martyn-style experimentalism on his track Freefalling. What I really hope is that there’ll be a shift away from the sounds of words being more important than what is actually being said. I just wanna hear a good story!

Give us a New Year’s Resolution: Make something every day. Oh, and quit smoking. Fourth time lucky, eh?

Past, Present and Future with Jay Brown

Say hello to the second blog post in our Past, Present and Future series. Yesterday, London's Glitches reflected on their year gone by and looked ahead to 2014 and today it's the turn of Northampton's Jay Brown. Jay has been strongly supported by her local �鶹Լ�� Introducing show throughout 2013 and put on an immense performance at Glastonbury which you can watch here.

Describe yourself in one sentence: I guess I am a determined, analytical and a cheeky person

How have you been involved with �鶹Լ�� Introducing in 2013? Earlier this year I uploaded my song on to the uploader and you guys supported me. Thank you :) It's because of you I fulfilled a dream of playing Glastonbury.

Highlight of the year? Playing Glastonbury was AMAZING!!! and being playlisted twice with my tracks 'Keep Talking' and 'Video'! Best feeling ever!

Tell us your three favourite ways to connect with fans, new and old: I usually do this via videos, Facebook and Twitter or just plain old chatting to people after a gig. I definitely will do this more in 2014.

What is the biggest challenge facing you in 2014? To keep finding myself creatively and developing as a musician. I want to grow.

Tell us something that will trend in 2014: Me... ha! I mean hopefully. Wow, this is a hard one. I'm going to say let's just wait and see. The beauty isnt in the guessing :)

Give us a New Year’s Resolution: Get more organised. I am a daydreamer... but like all resolutions that probably won't happen. I'd also really like to finish some more music that I am excited about and share with you guys ASAP.

Past, Present and Future with Glitches

As Christmas approaches and 2014 starts to show at least the top of its face, we decided to ask five �鶹Լ�� Introducing artists from across the country to sum up the year gone by and the challenges on the horizon.

We start with London's Glitches, who were supported by their local show right at the start of the year. We've called the feature Past, Present and Future due to both its Dickensian connotations and because it actually covers what the band talk about... pretty much. Read their answers below and watch their video for track RGB at the foot of the post.

Describe Glitches in one sentence: Organic Imperial Grooves.

How have you been involved with �鶹Լ�� Introducing in 2013? We've been really fortunate to have been picked up by �鶹Լ�� Introducing in London from our first demo, Warm Seas, back in January. From then on, we've had regular played throughout the year with our first single Only Time Will Tell and our latest one RGB.

Highlight of the year? Probably our special single launch party for Only Time Will Tell at the St. Pancras Old Church. We brought in a 15-piece orchestra to flesh out the sounds. It was really special and it was great to meet so many hard-working and talented classical musicians.

Tell us your three favourite ways to connect with fans, new and old: The most direct and meaningful one for us is at live shows. It reduces to people just in a room listening to sounds. For half an hour or so, that's all there is. Beyond all the hype and the reputation, if we move the audience emotionally during these shows, it reminds us what it's all about.

Next has to be online through Facebook and Twitter. These days, you can get such great personal interaction about how music has moved fans. We recently had a fan propose to his wife with a copy of our latest single, RGB!

We also love the fact that things are so democratic on YouTube. If your video is good, people dig it and say they do. If not, you really fall by the wayside. It's not perfect, but it seems that cream rises to the top.

What is the biggest challenge facing you in 2014? Figuring out how to construct our album with the ambition that we've got for it. We want to make a truly great debut, but we have so many ideas involving orchestras and experiments that we really just need to get a focus and finish it!

Tell us something that will trend in 2014: We'll hear a lot more about the band music scene in Peckham. People will love it. Then there'll be a backlash, and everyone will start talking about where the next music scene will kick off. Our money's on Willesden right now.

Give us a New Year’s Resolution: To always be humble and never forget your roots.
