Hello. As you know the show's on holiday, but not all of us are actually taking all the holidays. I'm taking some of it, but seeing as I'm in the office staring at a nice tidy desk I thought I'd send out a blog with things you can do while we're away.
First of all. My highlight of the last couple of week's worth of shows was Carrie's innocence in creating Camilla Ice. I love it. Almost as much as I love the fact that a fan of the show has gone and dubbed her over the official video. Take a look.
It's Pippa here, one of the elusive Unit Assistants... as I'm working on the show for a bit I thought it only fair that I give you all the pleasure of a wee blog to give you an insight into one of the tasks that I do of a morning!
Today, it's all about Carpark Catchphrase... (hooray I hear you cry!)
Whether it's the banter with Roy you enjoy the most, the random actions of Mr Fish, the shouting the answers at the radio, the amusing contestants, or even Dom's lovely bumming kicking it all off... there's no two ways about it, Carpark Catchphrase is truly a joyous part of the show!
Good morning to you. It's been a hectic few hours on the Chris Moyles Show today. You'll probably know by now that it's Carrie and assistant producer Matt's birthday!
We weren't entirely sure how to celebrate a double birthday, but it's all been very funny.
As always, I baked a cake for them. I decided to do half Matt and half Carrie. I call it a 'carriemat' cake.
The big question of the day why on earth did I agree to do a Maths GCSE Exam - I mean do feel for all you out there currently cramming in the revision etc but I left those days of my life behind a long time ago and seriously don't want to revisit them!
I am getting ridiculously nervous - sack that I am totally bricking it!!
Good afternoon to you! It's another blog from me today, just to say hello.
Dave's video is coming soon...promise.
In the meantime I've found another video to keep you entertained. It was filmed by Will Kinderberg (or fans of the show will know him as the former afternoon producer of the Chris Moyles show aka Grey head). He spent last weekend at Download and managed to find a group of girls who claimed they'd slept with Chris Moyles last night.
Here it is....
Apparently, they were on stilts when he filmed this. Well, that's what Will said anyway!
Have a good afternoon/evening. Should be a good show again tomorrow, we've got the Golden Hour!
Rachel x
PS - thank you to Martin from London and Sebastian from Manchester for missing me. It's nice that 2 people are concerned about my welfare. Well, 3 if you add my mum into the equation!

Dear Friends
Dave here feeling nervous ahead of tomorrow. The reason for my anxiety is that i have to sit a 2 hour maths GCSE to end my week, along with Aled, Carrie, Chappers, Scott and Grimey to name but 4. Reguar listeners to the show will appreciate that mathematics was never my best subject at school, and now having been out of practice for so long, it promises to be an even greater challenge to me. In order to help my mental preparation, Rachel thought it would be beneficial to have a blindfolded taste test involving a series of so called brain foods. I did the test as you would have heard, but suffice to say it hasn't as yet made me feel any more confident about the challenge that awaits tomorrow.
However, if you're one of those people who like their radio with pictures, and is intrigued to see what a blindfolded man eating boiled eggs, broccoli and mackerel looks like, then be sure to watch this space later, when a video of said event is to be posted. It obviously won't be posted by me, as i haven't been on my video posting internet course yet, but some nerd in Hoop Dogg's office will supply the footage for your viewing pleasure.
Good afternoon, I hope that you're having a good day! Just thought I'd post a quick blog to let you know that something very cool has just gone online....
It's only a pretty damn fine mini mix from Jaguar Skillz. If you click here you can listen to it.
We had that lovely man Justin Lee Collins in this morning - the anticipation of the big man JLC's arrival was building from half past 6..The hairy monster from Bristol really does lead the way when it comes to hugs - its almost an art form with him. I couldn't wait to get mine!! Anyway Chris got a bit upset as he wanted to be the best hugger - so we decided to have a hug off with the team..here's my leaderboard..
Goooooood morning fans of the Chris Moyles blog, it's Rachel here.
Today is going to be a difficult day. I've just found out who's won the Apprentice. We're planning to have the winner on the show tomorrow, so as the producer I've had to call the PR company to set up the time etc. Obviously, they have to tell me who it is.
Anyway, now I've got to talk in code all day about the interview. Naturally the rest of the team want to watch it tonight. I've just had a conversation with Matt and Aled and every time I talk about 'that person' I have to refer to them as 'the winner'. It's like the yes/no game. Anyway the interview is set up now, so I think I'll just move on!
Think of a number between 1 and 10. Multiply that figure by 3. Add 40 and then halve it. Cook a risotto and then moonwalk through a large hallway.
All of this is easier to do than understanding the rules of "Comedy Dave's Euro 2008 sweepstake". 16 teams were in the hat - everyone had to put in Β£2 but then some had the chance of a picking a bonus team - which was fine except they actually had to pay another Β£2 to choose it. So - not really a bonus - more just choosing - and paying for - an extra team....
If you're reading this, then it's a celebration of technology and me working together in harmony. You see, normally the way that these blogs work is that I just write an email or something containing random guff about my very average and at times mundane lifestyle. I then send this to Aled or Hoop Dogg or some other geek in online who puts it on the website for me using computer magic. However it seems that they'd prefer me to do this myself, so i'm currently blogging alone with the aid of some computer programme link thing, which will hopefully work.
A similar situation arose at the weekend when I went to a tesco metro thingy in manchester and had to self scan all of my items. It was a nightmare, and while this technology was supposed to make life easier and speed up the check out experience, it actually delayed things while frantic tesco operatives had to help me self scan all my shopping, when it could have all been done in half the time on a traditional manned checkout. At the end of the day, it's not about making life easier, it's about saving money by employing less people which in turn most probably results in unemployment, drugs problems, ram raiding, mugging, happy slapping and the decay of society as we know it, all because someone thinks that self blogging and self scanning checkouts are the future.
Well It's not my future. Come the revolution
Kind Thoughts
Dave.
ps If there's no piccy on this blog, apologies. I haven't learnt how to do that yet.
A little update from me as I'm sat again in Radio 1's playlist meeting. This week: loving the "new" track from The Wombats!
I'm doing a long day today as Rachel was ill this morning. In addition to playlist I'm also working on our Big Brother highlights which we've got coming up on Friday - along with videos!!!
Tomorrow on the show Mel B is coming in ("oooh crab paste") so that should be fun - especially when you realise it's to talk about her new underwear range!!!
Right better focus again on the music.
Get well soon Rach! If she's back tomorrow, Rach will be blogging!
