The place where an animal or plant lives is called its habitat.

A woodland is a type of habitat which is home to living things, like oak trees, squirrels and bees.

Join Chantelle, Cece and Ethan in this video from The Regenerators to find out what kinds of animals they find in the woods.

What is a tally chart?

In this activity, a tally chart helps you to count how many different living things you can find.

For each animal you see, draw one line.

For two animals, draw two lines, and so on.

When you get to five, draw a diagonal line across the four lines to make a gate.

Having sets of five marks makes it easier to add up all the animals at the end.
