INTERIOR CLASSROOM - Jeanie is writing 'My Weekend' on the board.
JEANIE: So, did anyone do anything exciting at the weekend?
Patrick starts enthusiastically putting his hand up.
PATRICK: Me! Me! Pick Me!
JEANIE: Alright, Patrick!
Patrick goes to the front of the class to tell his story.
PATRICK: So, where do I start?! This weekend I went to the pantomime with my family. It was great! We saw Jack and the Beanstalk.
JEANIE: Ooh, sounds very interesting Patrick. We have a book in the library about that too. Can you tell us what happens in the story of Jack and the Beanstalk? We can use the pictures in the book to help if you can’t remember.
The book of Jack and the Beanstalk appears on the screen.
PATRICK: So It’s all about this magic cow. It’s mad. Jack and the cow are great pals, they run around together like it’s nobodies business.
A cow from the book appears on screen while Patrick is talking. Jeanie looks a little bit confused by the story, but let’s Patrick ramble on.
PATRICK: So next thing they’re at the top of this big beanie thing and them and the giant are all like ’how’d we get up here?’
An image from the book of the giant on a beanstalk appears while Patrick is talking.
JEANIE: Ehh… Patrick, I’m not sure this is exactly how the story starts.
Patrick looks confused.
PATRICK: What d’you mean, that’s how I remember it?
JEANIE: Doesn’t it start with Jack getting some magic beans?
PATRICK: Huhhh. Y’know what, I think you might be right! So Jack goes off to sell their cow. Some wee man has a laugh and buys her for a few beans, and I remember now, the beans are magic!
An image of Jack with a cow, and the man he sells it to, appear while Patrick is speaking.
PATRICK: Jack climbs right to the top, and all of a sudden he’s in a giant's house!
An image of Jack climbing the beanstalk to a large giant's house appears.
PATRICK: …then the big giant lad falls down too! It’s mad!
An image of a giant falling through the air appears.
JEANIE: What a good story that was. You remembered the story in the right order too. So, would anyone else like to tell me what they did at the weekend?
End.
