Canmore is a small town in a part of Canada called Alberta. It is near the Rocky Mountains and in Banff National Park.
It is so cold there that there are many glaciers (rivers of ice) and high, snowy mountains.
Some children there enjoy skiing and playing in the snow outside.
Houses may be built high from the ground with steps leading up to the front door. This is because the ground is so cold that the house might move when the weather warms the ground up in the summer.
There are lots of forests in Canada. You may see more homes made with wood than in the UK.
