Video
A group of friends are in Snowdonia. Dan and Kasia plan to beat everyone in a race to the top of Snowdon. They pack healthy foods and drink for the journey.
Notes for parents
After watching the video, students will be able to:
- understand and use particular vocabulary, eg summit/top, healthy, fit, run, faster, jog, walk, climb
- structure a sentence using patterns such as, Mae'n rhaid…(must/have to), Ga i …? (Can I have…?)
Activity 1
Drop the items into the 'Healthy' or 'Not healthy' box.
Activity 2
Look around the house in the food cupboard and the fridge to see what healthy foods are there. Lay all the healthy foods out on the table, but ask an adult's permission first.
Use 'Mae'n rhaid i …' to tell the rest of the family what they need to eat to be healthy, as you pick each piece of food up to show to them.
For example, if you're speaking to just one person, use the singular form 'ti' and say:
- Mae'n rhaid i ti fwyta oren i fod yn iach. (You have to eat an orange to be healthy.)
- Mae'n rhaid i ti fwyta cnau i fod yn iach. (You have to eat nuts to be healthy.)
- Mae'n rhaid i ti fwyta … i fod yn iach. (You have to eat … to be healthy.)
If you're speaking to more than one member of your family at the same time, use the plural form 'chi' and say:
- Mae'n rhaid i chi fwyta oren i fod yn iach. (You all have to eat an orange to be healthy.)
- Mae'n rhaid i chi fwyta cnau i fod yn iach. (You all have to eat nuts to be healthy.)
- Mae'n rhaid i chi fwyta … i fod yn iach. (You all have to eat … to be healthy.)
Activity 3
Print the wordsearch and find the words in the list.
