Ssssshh…be nice and quiet…tiptoe carefully and come join Declan and Pip as they make their way through the forest to look for some interesting animals.

Lots of different animals make their home in the forest, under leaves, inside fallen logs and even among the highest branches. There are so many to explore, although they are not always easy to find straight away.

Animals like squirrels and mice are very shy and can be easily frightened away by too much noise. Others, like foxes and badgers, are nocturnal. That means they only come out at night. If we are too noisy when we are walking through the forest during the day, we might wake them up from their sleep!

So, the next time you are in a forest, follow Pip’s advice and be as quiet as you can - you just never know what you might find.
