My name's Akeem, I'm 16, and I'm from London.
I've always seen myself as a businessman, an entrepreneur, a boss, for sure.
Working for other people never really interested me that much. I want to work for myself and be a millionaire, but my mum will always be like, "Hakeem, what about a plan B?".
"He's got… more that he's just not showing anybody yet. I don't know what you're waiting for but, now's the time."
Entering work experience for the first time, I wanted to know what else was out there.
I tried out loads of new jobs. The airport, the care home, the restaurant. So many careers that I didn't even know existed, and so many careers I didn't even know I'd enjoy so much.
"When it comes to the shoes, I like wrapping shoes and putting them in the box cause they're so fresh."
I met a lot of new people and I had the chance to learn so much from them. Real skills.
"X marks the spot, this is where you wanna do the trial on."
"Would you like to insure anybody else to drive your car?"
"I'm not feeling too nervous cause it seems quite straightforward."
You should never be too proud. Don't think you're above something because you don't like the idea of it.
"No matter what I used to think of the elderly I can't think anything else but respect for them. I got to see that the care homes aren't as boring as I thought they were. I should have just been like, more positive at the beginning."
Always make an effort and people will notice your hard work.
"Over the two days, just knuckled down, he just gets on with it. He's been a credit."
"Yeah, they smell good. Can you smell it?" "Wow."
"You should be proud of what you achieved today." "Thank you."
If people give you feedback, they're offering you help, it's not a criticism.
"If it's wrong it's wrong"
"You were outstanding, right the way through the exercise. It was just the comment at the end."
"Oh mate, it was the comment that I made?"
There's no problem with having a goal, but you need a plan.
"Having aspirations to be a millionaire is absolutely brilliant. But the thing is, you've always sort of got to come down to Earth a little bit. Get that work experience behind you first."
"You've changed my mind to have a plan B and, I mean that's amazing advice."
My dream, is to earn a £1,000,000 by the time I'm 25. And who knows, I might do it. But my plan is to be successful in whatever I do, and I know I can do that.
