Children in Need 2009 - Pudsey Does Bhangra

Hundreds of organisations are using grant money from Children in Need to help improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.

Despite the economic conditions, the 2008 appeal raised a record-breaking Β£37.8m, which has helped more than 700 projects across the UK.

In the West Midlands, Β£1,224,697 has been awarded to local projects.

This year marks the 30th Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Children in Need Appeal and the main event happens on Friday, 20 November 2009.

Children in Need

Pudsey does Bhangra

Joanne Malin takes the Children In Need helm for the first time, presenting live from Millennium Point, alongside Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Asian Network's Adil Ray and Tommy Sandhu, and of course Pudsey Bear.

Spectators can try their hand at dhol drumming, take part in a Bollywood dance workshop and have their photos taken in the Asian Network Bollywood photo booth, in return for a donation to Children in Need.

The event will broadcast live at various times during Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One's networked show presented by Sir Terry Wogan.

Ticket lines opened on 2 November for the free Birmingham event, and all 700 have now been issued.

*Please be aware that only people with tickets will be admitted to the Millennium Point event.
