"We want to take on the world!"

Birmingham rockers Gundogs played live on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ WM Introducing. Listen again to their session here!

The girls of Gundogs

The girls of Gundogs

Gundogs ooze style, attitude and charisma.

Evoking comparisons with Nirvana, the Sex Pistols and Nine Inch Nails, the two-girl, two-guy line-up are one of the busiest bands to emerge from Birmingham in recent times.

Gigging relentlessly all over the UK, the new-wave rockers bring a plethora of international influences to their tunes, with each band member originating from a different country – Columbia, Pershia, Pakistan and England, respectively.

Their debut single – Call Out My Name – was released on I-tunes in June 2008 and Gundogs have performed extensively around the UK – including at the recent Isle of White Festival – to promote it.

Even though their current tour is winding up, Gundogs' momentum continues to grow; they begin a new 40 date, nationwide programme in September 2008.

Speaking live on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ WM Introducing, vocalist and guitarist Leila said:

"It's been a real roller-coaster of gigs. There have been so many highlights. From playing little 'toilet venues' that are really dirty and horrible and then we've actually moved up to playing some quite decent venues. It's nice to play decent venues and get food and alcohol!"

The hard work though does come with a price; Gundogs played live on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ WM Introducing with Leila having her foot in a cast.

Maria

Maria

"I broke it a couple of weeks ago in a mosh pit," she said. "Just a bit of advice – don't go into a mosh pit with bare feet (laughs)! This was a gig in Birmingham; I was there as a fan. A big bloke jumped on my foot! But I still managed to walk on it for a couple of days without realising it was broken. I've been in a cast for two weeks. I've been able to do a couple of gigs but haven't been able to jump around”.

Gundogs in their own words want "worldwide success" are clearly on the path to greatness. They played live versions of their tracks 'Feel It Coming'; 'Call Out My Name'; 'Chaos Rising' and 'Low' on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ WM Introducing.
