Birmingham Big Wheel

Birmingham Big Wheel by Mike-Teachimp

Be in the Big Picture!

Send in your Birmingham pictures to become part of record-breaking attempt to create the world's largest photo montage.

The Big Picture is a project aimed at making the biggest photo album the West Midlands has ever seen, and if that brings together over 100,000 images then they will be made into a World Record-breaking photo montage.

Boulton, Watt and Murdoch by Michael Hughes

This isn't just about arty, professional or exceptional images. The Big Picture is looking to capture a snapshot of the whole of the West Midlands at the beginning of 2008. That's photos of people, places, things that make you proud, things that really interest you.

Submit your photos

Over the next six months, people can submit their own photos to the online gallery to help build up The Big Picture, either by handing prints into their local participating Jessops store, or uploading digital images directly on www.inthebigpicture.co.uk.

The Big Picture team are also interested in finding out the stories behind the pictures, to provide a fascinating insight into the lives and loves of local residents.

Project manager, Kerry Endsor, said: "By taking part, local people will be part of an exciting world record attempt, and be able to show their photos to a huge audience both online and through a number of planned exhibitions and events across the region over the next six months.

Life, humour, vitality and beauty

"What I am personally really pleased about is that people are not only sharing their photos, but the stories behind them. These are funny, cheerful, moving, dramatic and everything else in-between. We are painting a picture of a region full of life, humour, vitality and beauty - a really fitting picture of the West Midlands and the people in it."
