 Miskolc Dixieland From Friday 6th July 2007, performers and musicians from America, Spain, France, South Korea, Hungary, Poland, Holland, the Czech Republic and Venezuela will help make Birmingham the capital of the jazz world. For ten days, 185 performances will take place in bars, restaurants, shopping centres and city streets, and all but five of them are free! The artistsThe international flavour of talent includes Hungary's top two bands - The Budapest Ragtime Orchestra and The Miskolc Dixieland Band.  Tipitina The invasion from Spain consists of Europe's top Blues band, The Lazy Jumpers from Barcelona and four young graduates from The Berklee School of Music in the U.S.A – Juan Galiardo, Luis Gutierrez, Enrique Oliver and Jaume Llomart. They'll be joined by the New Orleans Jump Band from Sotogrande. France is represented by the Django Reinhardt–style Urban Gypsy and one-man-band the Bernard Constant L'Homme Orchestre. Hot jazz fiddler Tim Kliphuis comes from the Netherlands. The Elmhurst College 20 piece big band hail from Illinois, USA, while Kinzli Coffman is from South Korea by way of Nashville, Tennessee. Among the new British bands to look out for are Tipitina, the New Orleans Rhumba Boogie Band from Preston, Essex Jump Jivers, The Zoltans and Dixieland wunderkinds from Leicester, Fidgety Feet. Providing the music for the breakfast time gathering will be 60 year American jazz veteran Herb Geller along with Dixieland band from Leicester, Fidgety Feet. Broad StreetNo less than 16 venues on Broad Street will host live jazz performances during the festival.  Figety Feet Army They include: The Brasshouse, Revolution, Bar Risa, Pitcher and Piano, City Inn, Pizza Express, Waters Edge, Tesco Edgbaston, Slug and Lettuce, Ipanema, The Living Room, Old Orleans, Symphony Hall Foyer, The Wine Republic, Blanc Brasserie, and Number Nine The Gallery. Artists include: The Big Four from Holland, new British band Tipitina, Herb Geller, Urban Gypsy from France, Miskolc Dixieland Band and Budapest Ragtime Orchestre from Hungary and the UK’s Simon Spillett. Taste of Birmingham 2007Held in Cannon Hill Park from Thursday – Sunday 8th July, the Taste of Birmingham is a special food and drink festival featuring 20 restaurants and a variety of music and entertainment. Jazz on a trainAnyone travelling between Moor Street, Dorridge and Cradley Heath on Saturday 7th July will be treated to a short set from The Jazz Ramblers!
